Weston has always been good at patching Windows as part of our CompleteCare services. Taking care of the base operating system and making sure that patches are installed in a controlled and secure manner is very important. However, even if the OS is fully-patched, there are constant security alerts coming from other major third-party applications that can put your computers at risk. So we’ve come up with a solution for that for our clients. When you’re running one of the apps that we can automatically patch (which currently covers Chrome, Adobe Reader DC, Microsoft Edge, Zoom and Firefox among a bunch of other every-day apps) and our tools detect that it needs an update, our tools will pop-up a little dialog box that asks if you want to update the app. Click “Yes”, it’ll update. If you’re in the middle of something, hit “No” and it’ll bug you next time to update. We recommend clicking “Yes” whenever you can to update the apps to keep your system as secure as possible.
If you are a client of ours and have any questions about a pop-up you’re seeing on your computer, contact your local office to talk to one of our consultants who can help you out. If you’re not a client of ours, email our sales team to start that conversation today on how you can become a CompleteCare client.
