Improving Your Remote Workforce

Since the pandemic is showing no signs of slowing down, working from home is going to be the new norm for a while. The tools we’ve been using (including heavy use of Microsoft Teams) are getting better and better and making things easier on all involved. That being said, while the technology has been getting better, sometimes there is a culture and mentality shift that has to happen for all involved to make things smoother and keep your business productive. GitLab is a company with over 450 employees, and are the largest fully remote company out there. They have great tips like this starter guide and documentation on building the optimal home office and how to build an all-remote team. They even have personal stories from actual employees on what is working and what isn’t, along with a pile of great resource articles. They also put out an annual remote work report that surveyed thousands of remote workers around the world to find out what’s working, what’s not, and how things are changing. If you’re looking to improve your business’ remote workforce, it’s all worth a read. While we don’t have any clients with that many employees, there is bound to be something in there that would be useful for your business.
