Microsoft recently announced that they are ending support for Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10. They are recommending that you upgrade to Internet Explorer 11. While generally we agree that having the latest version of your browser is a good security practice, we also know that Internet Explorer 11 also introduces compatibility issues for many of our clients who have specialized line-of-business applications that rely on the browser.
We generally don’t auto-install major browser versions because of these compatibility issues, so we are disabling the auto-upgrade for clients’ machines that are part of our managed patching programs (which would include our CompleteCare, Weston Essentials and WestonDataProtection patching clients on machines that have the Weston agent on them). If you would like to have your organization upgraded to Internet Explorer 11, email our service team at help@weston-tech.com and we’ll roll out the upgrade during your next available maintenance cycle.
